Do I need to be fit before starting judo?

No. Our beginner classes are designed to help you build fitness progressively regardless of your starting point.

Can beginners join adult classes?

Yes. Most adult members started as complete beginners and learn from the ground up.

What age can kids start judo?

Children can start from age 4 in our Pee Wees programme in Takapuna.

How much do classes cost?

Pee Wees are $36/month. Juniors and Seniors are $73/month. Your first class is always free!

How does the free trial process work?

Sign up online, then attend your selected class and speak with Simon when you arrive.

Do you run classes during school holidays?

Our regular timetable follows the school term, so there are usually no classes during school holidays.

Is judo safe for kids and adults?

Yes. Coaches teach breakfalls, controlled technique, and age-appropriate progressions to prioritise safety.

Where is the dojo located?

34 Barrys Point Road, Takapuna, Auckland 0622, with easy access from Milford, Devonport, Glenfield, Wairau, Birkenhead, Birkdale, and Albany.

Do high-belt members help beginners?

Yes. Senior high-belt members regularly support drilling rounds and technical practice, so beginners can learn with extra guidance in class.

What should I bring to my first class?

Wear comfortable training clothes, bring a water bottle, and arrive a few minutes early. We can advise on uniforms after your first session.
